(WNY News Now) – A Lockport resident faces felony and misdemeanor charges after a sheriff’s investigation into reports of suspicious behavior.
Lockport, NY – William H. Tilton Jr., 56, of Lockport, was arrested on October 16, 2024, following an investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office into multiple complaints of a suspicious individual in the Town of Lockport. Sheriff Michael Filicetti confirmed that Tilton has been charged with Unlawful Surveillance in the Second Degree, a class E felony, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a class A misdemeanor.
The investigation, led by the Criminal Investigation Bureau, is ongoing, with the possibility of further charges. Tilton was apprehended and held for centralized arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
