Pedestrian Struck by Tractor Trailer in Early Morning Incident
(WNY News Now) – In the early hours of October 18th, 2024, Andrew T. Seelbinder, 37, of Dunkirk, New York, tragically lost his life in a fatal accident on Route 394 in the Town of Westfield.
Dunkirk, N.Y. – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a tractor trailer striking a pedestrian at approximately 1:21 AM. Upon arrival, authorities determined that Seelbinder had been struck by a northbound tractor trailer while walking along the roadway. Despite prompt emergency response efforts, Seelbinder succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
No charges are expected in connection with the incident, which remains under investigation. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by multiple agencies, including the Westfield and Jamestown Police Departments, the New York State Police, the Westfield Fire Department, Chautauqua County EMS, and the Chautauqua County Coroner’s Office.
