(WNY News Now) – A reported fight on Jamestown’s south side led to the arrest of a local teen who attempted to flee the scene.
Jamestown, N.Y. – In the early hours of October 20, 2024, Jamestown Police officers responded to a report of a fight at a south side address. Upon arrival at 1:05 AM, officers made contact with the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Tysean L. Mays, a Jamestown resident.
During the investigation, Mays attempted to flee the scene on foot. A brief pursuit ensued, with officers quickly apprehending him a short distance away. Mays was taken into custody without further incident and transported to Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged with resisting arrest.
Mays was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
