(WNY News Now) – FREDONIA – Get ready for an unforgettable night of bluegrass as the 1891 Fredonia Opera House Performing Arts Center presents Monroe Crossing, a Minnesota-based bluegrass sensation, live on stage on Thursday, Oct. 24, at 7:30 p.m. This performance is part of the Folk in Fredonia Gilman Family Music Series, which has been delighting audiences for 30 years.

Monroe Crossing, named after bluegrass legend Bill Monroe, is known for its electrifying performances, combining traditional bluegrass, bluegrass gospel, and original tunes. With their energetic stage presence and exceptional musicianship, the band has captivated audiences across the U.S., Canada, Europe, and even South Korea.

Comprised of members Mark Anderson (bass/vocals), Lisa Fuglie (fiddle/lead vocals), Derek Johnson (guitar/lead vocals), and Matt Thompson (mandolin/harmony vocals), Monroe Crossing’s unique sound comes from their diverse musical backgrounds. The band has recorded 17 albums, ranging from classic bluegrass to collaborations with choirs.
