(WNY News Now) – A Dunkirk man faces felony drug charges after police discovered cocaine during his arrest for a domestic dispute.

Dunkirk, N.Y. – On July 24, 2024, at approximately 9:02 PM, Dunkirk Police officers responded to a call about a physical domestic dispute on St. Hedwigs Avenue. Upon arriving, officers discovered that Jetchuan A. Reyes, 35, had pushed the victim through a porch railing and prevented them from calling 911. Reyes was promptly arrested and transported to Dunkirk Police Department headquarters for processing.

While processing Reyes, police found eight individual baggies of an unknown powder on his person. The substance was sent to the New York State Police Crime Laboratory for analysis, which later identified it as cocaine.
A warrant was issued for Reyes, charging him with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 5th degree, a Class D felony. On October 1, 2024, at approximately 10:18 PM, Dunkirk Police officers conducted a traffic stop on Reyes in the 600 block of Main Street, arresting him on the outstanding warrant. Reyes was arraigned at Dunkirk Police headquarters and released on his own recognizance. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
