(WNY News Now) – A violent altercation in Syracuse’s Eastwood neighborhood led to a stabbing early Sunday morning, prompting an ongoing police investigation.

On Sunday, October 27, at approximately 1:53 a.m., Syracuse Police officers responded to reports of a large fight near the 2700 block of James Street in the Eastwood neighborhood. Upon arrival, officers discovered a 29-year-old man suffering from an apparent stab wound to his upper torso, believed to have been sustained during the altercation.

Emergency medical services transported the victim to Upstate Hospital, where he is listed in stable condition. Authorities have not yet released the victim’s identity, and no suspects have been publicly identified.

The Syracuse Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division has launched a thorough inquiry into the incident. Detectives are actively seeking any information or witness accounts that may aid the investigation.
