(WNY News Now) – HANOVER, NY – A routine patrol led to the arrest of a Jamestown man on multiple charges, including Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), during the early hours of Saturday, November 23, 2024.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) reported observing a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed along Routes 5 & 20 in Hanover around 1:21 a.m. Deputies initiated a traffic stop and identified the driver as 46-year-old Lance E. McKoon of Jamestown, NY.
Subsequent investigation revealed McKoon was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. Deputies took him into custody and transported him to the Hanover substation for processing. After being processed, McKoon was taken to a local hospital for evaluation and later released with traffic tickets.
McKoon faces three charges: Speed in Zone, Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), and DWI Per Se. He is scheduled to appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
