(WNY News Now) – A late-night collision on Burnet Avenue leaves a pedestrian dead as Syracuse Police launch an investigation into the hit-and-run driver.
SYRACUSE, NY — A tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of a 60-year-old woman early Sunday morning on Burnet Avenue, according to the Syracuse Police Department.
Officers responded to the 1400 block of Burnet Avenue shortly after midnight on November 24, 2024, following reports of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Upon arrival, they found the victim fatally injured. Despite life-saving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police revealed that the driver fled the scene after the collision, leaving the circumstances and identity of the driver under investigation. Members of the Syracuse Police Traffic Section are leading the effort to uncover details surrounding the incident.
