(WNY News Now) – Wheatfield, NY – Authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Sunday night at the Dollar General located at 2300 Niagara Falls Boulevard in the Town of Wheatfield.
At approximately 10:12 PM on December 1, 2024, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center received a distress call reporting that a male suspect, armed with a knife, had threatened employees before fleeing the store on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6 feet tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black mask, gloves, and keeping his hood up to obscure his identity.
Responding deputies secured the scene and began a search for the individual. The investigation is being led by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau, with assistance from crime scene investigators and the New York State Police.
