(WNY News Now) – Syracuse, NY — A Monday afternoon shooting incident has prompted an active investigation by the Syracuse Police Department. Around 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 100 block of Fordham Road. Upon arrival, they found no evidence of gunfire at the scene.

Shortly after, a 33-year-old male arrived at Upstate University Hospital by private vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound to his back. Medical staff confirmed that the victim is in stable condition and that his injuries are not life-threatening.

Preliminary findings suggest a connection between the reported gunfire and the victim’s injuries, though the exact location of the shooting remains undetermined.
