(WNY News Now) – PennDOT has announced a ban on all commercial vehicles traveling in both directions along Interstate 86, spanning the New York-Pennsylvania state line, as part of precautionary measures amid severe weather forecasts. The restriction applies from Mina, NY, to Greenfield Township, PA, and will remain effective until further notice.

Exceptions to the ban are limited to commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) carrying loads with onboard chains. The restrictions aim to minimize accidents and improve traffic safety as adverse weather conditions threaten the region.

Motorists are encouraged to stay informed through updates on 511NY.org, which provides real-time traffic alerts and guidance for safe travel. Drivers are also advised to exercise caution and plan alternate routes as needed.
