(WNY News Now) – MAYVILLE, NY – Emergency services launched an extensive search Saturday morning following reports of a low-flying aircraft in distress near Honeysette Road. The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, alongside multiple fire companies and emergency teams, scoured the area but found no evidence of a downed plane.
The incident began around 10:47 AM when a concerned citizen reported the sighting. Responders deployed an array of resources, including the North Lake Fire District’s all-terrain Argo vehicle and drones operated by the Sheriff’s Office and Jamestown Police Department. Despite an exhaustive effort, no aircraft wreckage or crash site was located.
Authorities later confirmed that low-flying aircraft had been operating in the area during the reported timeframe. All were accounted for and determined not to be in distress.
