(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A woman with outstanding warrants was arrested early Sunday morning after attempting to flee from officers during a street check near Stowe Street and Falconer Street.

Officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon observed 32-year-old Jessie E. Anderson walking in the roadway around 2:14 a.m. When approached, Anderson fled into a nearby driveway and backyard but was quickly located by officers.

Upon detaining Anderson, officers discovered she had active warrants from Jamestown City Court. She resisted arrest but was subdued after a brief struggle. Anderson was charged with Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, and a violation for walking in the roadway. She was transported to the city jail and is being held pending arraignment. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
