(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A larceny investigation on Jamestown’s west side concluded with the arrest of a local man after officers used video evidence to identify and apprehend the suspect.
Jamestown, N.Y. – On Friday, December 6, 2024, at approximately 11:50 p.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon responded to a larceny complaint. A resident reported a package stolen from their porch. Upon reviewing security footage, police identified a man committing the theft.
While patrolling the area, officers located the suspect, later identified as 44-year-old Stefan C. Howie of Jamestown. After further investigation confirmed his involvement, Howie was taken into custody.
He was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and charged with petit larceny. Howie was issued an appearance ticket and released. He is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
