(WNY News Now) – An investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has led to charges against a Fredonia resident accused of endangering a child’s welfare.

FORESTVILLE, NY — A detailed investigation by the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division has resulted in the arrest of James A. Johnson, 39, of Fredonia, New York. Johnson has been charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

The investigation, which began on November 18, 2024, involved a review of circumstances that led authorities to believe Johnson’s actions posed a risk to a child.

James A. Johnson is scheduled to appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date to answer the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
