(WNY News Now) – A traffic violation observed by Deputy R. Bull on Schultz Road early Saturday morning, December 14, led to a high-speed pursuit involving a stolen vehicle and six juvenile suspects. The incident began at 4:25 a.m. when the suspect vehicle failed to yield to emergency lights and sirens, initiating a chase that spanned multiple roads and municipalities.

The pursuit took a dangerous turn when the vehicle struck a stop sign at Schultz and Moyer Roads. Despite the damage, the suspects fled southbound on Shawnee Road, eventually crossing into North Tonawanda. The chase ended on Wheatfield Street when the vehicle became immobilized after colliding with landscaping blocks.

All six occupants fled on foot. However, four juveniles were quickly detained by law enforcement, including deputies from Niagara County, the North Tonawanda Police Department, and New York State Police. The vehicle, reported stolen the previous day from Grand Island, was recovered.

The suspects, all identified as juvenile males, face multiple charges, including Criminal Possession of Stolen Property (D Felony), Obstruction of Governmental Administration (A Misdemeanor), and Unlawful Fleeing of a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle (A Misdemeanor). They also received numerous vehicle and traffic citations.

Following New York State’s juvenile arrest procedures, the suspects were released to their guardians on appearance tickets. They are scheduled to appear in Niagara County Youth Part Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
