(WNY News Now) – A Rochester man was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times on North Street Sunday night. Police are seeking information as the investigation into the assault continues.

ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A 36-year-old man is recovering in the hospital after a stabbing incident Sunday evening in the area of North Street. Police responded to a call around 7 p.m. reporting a person had been stabbed. Upon arrival, officers found the victim with multiple lacerations and puncture wounds to his upper and lower body.

The Rochester Police Department stated that the man was immediately transported to the hospital for medical treatment. Fortunately, he is expected to survive his injuries.

While the exact circumstances leading up to the assault remain unclear, no arrests have been made as of yet. Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and have urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.

The department is asking the public to call 911 with any tips that could assist in solving the case. Further updates will be provided as more details emerge.
