(WNY News Now) – A reckless driver nearly caused a head-on collision in Little Valley, leading to a pursuit and a shocking DWI arrest at four times the legal limit.
LITTLE VALLEY, NY – On December 23, 2024, at approximately 11:53 PM, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 38-year-old Bryan L. Everts of Little Valley after a harrowing sequence of events that began with his vehicle crossing the center line, nearly causing a head-on collision.
Patrol units attempted to stop the vehicle, but Everts failed to yield, sparking a pursuit that ended in a residential driveway in Little Valley. Upon contact, deputies observed clear signs of impairment. A roadside investigation confirmed Everts was driving under the influence.
Subsequent testing revealed Everts’ blood alcohol concentration was four times the legal limit of 0.08%, leading to multiple felony charges. Everts was taken into custody and processed at the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office.
Everts faces the following charges:
- Felony Driving While Intoxicated (DWI)
- Felony Driving with a BAC of 0.08% or Higher
- Aggravated DWI (BAC 0.18% or Higher)
- Failure to Use a Designated Lane
- Failure to Comply with a Lawful Order
- Driving to the Left of Pavement Markings
- Reckless Driving
Everts was arraigned in the Town of Little Valley Court and released on his own recognizance. He is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
