(WNY News Now) – A stabbing incident early New Year’s day on Syracuse’s Apple Street left two victims injured, with the suspect, Alexis Germond, surrendering to authorities.

Syracuse Police responded to a stabbing call on the 300 block of Apple Street at approximately 1:31 a.m. on January 1st, 2025. Officers arrived to find a 23-year-old male victim with a stab wound to his chest. The victim was promptly transported to Upstate University Hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Investigators later discovered a second victim, a 24-year-old female, had also sustained a stab wound. She arrived at the hospital in a private vehicle and is also reported to be in stable condition.

Following the investigation, 22-year-old Alexis Germond voluntarily turned herself in to Syracuse Police Detectives. She is facing two counts of Assault in the Second Degree and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Fourth Degree.

Authorities continue to investigate the incident. Both victims are expected to recover, and Germond’s case is ongoing. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
