(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man with an active warrant from Pennsylvania was arrested Friday night after police responded to a suspicious situation on the city’s North Side.
Jamestown, N.Y. – At approximately 11:30 PM on January 5, 2025, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon were dispatched to a reported suspicious situation near a condemned residence on the North Side. Upon arrival, officers encountered several individuals near the property and began their investigation.
During the course of their inquiries, authorities identified one of the individuals as 35-year-old William R. Tilyou, a Jamestown resident. Further investigation revealed that Tilyou was wanted on an active warrant issued out of Erie County, Pennsylvania. As a result, he was promptly taken into custody without incident.
Tilyou was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where he was charged with Fugitive from Justice. He is currently being held pending his arraignment at Jamestown City Court.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
