(WNY News Now) – A late-night complaint led to the arrest of a Jamestown man for driving while intoxicated after his vehicle ended up in a ditch in the Town of Ellery.
ELLERY, NY — On January 3, 2025, at approximately 8:53 PM, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a vehicle operating erratically at a high rate of speed. Witnesses reported the vehicle swerving dangerously before it was discovered in a ditch in the Town of Ellery.
Upon investigation, deputies identified the driver as 50-year-old Frank G. Hagberg of Jamestown, NY. Authorities determined that Hagberg was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
Hagberg was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated (DWI), moving from a lane unsafely, and operating an uninspected motor vehicle. He was processed and later released with appearance tickets for the Town of Ellery Court, where he will face these charges at a later date.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
