(WNY News Now) – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Chautauqua County, effective until 7:00 AM EST on January 9, 2025. Lake effect snow is forecasted to bring significant accumulations, particularly across higher terrain and far western areas of the county.

- Snowfall Amounts: Total accumulations of 6 to 10 inches are expected in the most persistent snow bands.
- Timing: Hazardous conditions will peak during the Tuesday evening commute, as well as Wednesday morning and evening commutes.
- Impacted Areas: Western and higher-elevation areas of Chautauqua County will see the heaviest snowfall, while northern regions and lakeshore areas may receive less.
