(WNY News Now) – A routine traffic stop in Jamestown led to the arrest of a local man on multiple charges, including resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license.

JAMESTOWN, NY – On January 9, 2025, at approximately 11:27 a.m., Jamestown Police conducted a traffic stop near the intersection of Shaw Avenue and Elm Street for a vehicle equipment violation. During the stop, the driver, identified as 32-year-old Blake R. McAffee of Jamestown, exited his vehicle and refused to provide officers with his credentials.

According to the Jamestown Police Department, McAffee attempted to walk away from the scene and enter a nearby residence. Officers arrested him after he resisted efforts to be taken into custody. McAffee was charged with obstructing governmental administration in the second degree and resisting arrest.

Further investigation revealed that McAffee was operating the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license, resulting in an additional charge of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree. He was also cited for operating a vehicle without adequate stop lamps.

McAffee was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and later released on an appearance ticket. He is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court to answer the charges, which include obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest, aggravated unlicensed operation, and the equipment violation.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
