(WNY News Now) – Niagara County, NY – The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Lockport resident following a criminal investigation into reports of suspicious activity in the Town of Lockport.
William H. Tilton Jr., 56, of Lockport, faces charges of Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A-misdemeanor) and Stalking in the 4th Degree (B-misdemeanor). According to Sheriff Michael Filicetti, the charges stem from multiple complaints about a suspicious person in the area.
Tilton was taken into custody after a thorough investigation by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau. He is scheduled to be arraigned in the Town of Lockport Court.


Authorities continue to investigate additional reports of suspicious activity in the Lockport area. As part of their inquiry, investigators have uncovered photographs of two bedrooms believed to be located within the community.
The Sheriff’s Office is seeking public assistance in identifying the bedrooms pictured. Individuals with information are urged to contact Investigator Tyler Magliazzo or Captain Tracy Steen at 716-438-3327.
The investigation remains active, and further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
