LEWISTON, NY — On Tuesday morning, January 21, 2025, at approximately 8:41 a.m., the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash at a residence in the 400 block of Kenwood Drive in the Town of Lewiston.

Upon arrival, deputies confirmed that neither the occupants of the home nor the vehicle’s driver, identified as 57-year-old John Jourdain of Lewiston, sustained injuries. Deputies requested a building inspector to evaluate the structural integrity of the home due to the damage caused by the crash.

Investigators determined that the vehicle was traveling north on N Fifth Street when it veered off the road, crossing the median and southbound lane before entering a yard. The vehicle struck small trees, a fence, and ultimately came to a stop after colliding with the residence.

Jourdain was arrested and charged with Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, a misdemeanor offense. He was also issued multiple tickets for vehicle and traffic violations. Following his arrest, Jourdain was transported to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Correctional Facility, where he awaits centralized arraignment.

Lewiston Police, New York State Troopers, and the Lewiston #1 Volunteer Fire Company assisted at the scene.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
