(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. — U.S. Attorney Trini E. Ross announced that 28-year-old Diamond Allen, also known as Rose Allen and Reese, of Buffalo, New York, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges, including narcotics conspiracy, discharge of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime, and possession of a second firearm in furtherance of drug trafficking. These charges carry a mandatory minimum penalty of 20 years in prison, a maximum sentence of life, and a potential $5 million fine.
According to Assistant U.S. Attorneys Evan K. Glaberson and Donna Duncan, between 2016 and September 2, 2021, Allen conspired with co-defendant Nader Ngoopos, also known as Nike, to distribute cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, and marijuana in Buffalo and Olean, New York. The group transported drugs from Buffalo to Olean on a weekly basis, using local residences as drug distribution points.
The conspiracy involved acts of violence. In one instance, Allen, Ngoopos, and an accomplice carried out an armed robbery at St. Bonaventure University, where they entered a dorm room and held students at gunpoint to steal marijuana. In July 2019, following the shooting of a co-conspirator during a drug deal in Buffalo, Allen sought retaliation. On August 7, 2019, he fired multiple shots from a .40-caliber firearm at a person he believed was responsible for the earlier shooting.
Additionally, Allen possessed a second weapon, a loaded Polymer80 ghost gun, to further his drug trafficking activities. Ghost guns are untraceable firearms assembled from parts purchased separately, making them a growing concern for law enforcement.
Co-defendant Ngoopos has already been convicted.
This case is the result of a collaborative investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Buffalo Police Department, Olean Police Department, Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, and the New York Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
Diamond Allen is scheduled to be sentenced by U.S. District Judge John L. Sinatra Jr. on May 28, 2025.
