(WNY News Now) – Freedom, NY — A Freedom man was arrested in the early hours of January 24, 2025, on an outstanding felony bench warrant issued by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
At approximately 12:06 a.m., the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office located and apprehended 39-year-old Justin C. Prouty at a residence on Phillippi Road in Freedom. Prouty was taken into custody without incident.
Following the arrest, Prouty was transported to Chaffee and subsequently turned over to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. He was later transferred to the Erie County Holding Center, where he remains in custody pending further court proceedings. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
