(WNY News Now) – MAYVILLE, N.Y. – A female inmate at the Chautauqua County Jail is facing additional charges following an incident involving a correctional officer.
According to authorities, on February 14, 2025, at approximately 9:25 AM, inmate Vanessa M. Braun allegedly spit on an officer while being escorted back to her housing unit. As a result, Braun has been charged with Obstructing Governmental Administration (PL 195.05) and Harassment in the Second Degree (PL 240.26).
Following the incident, Braun was scheduled for centralized arraignment in the Town of Chautauqua Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
