(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, NY – The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo has issued a Winter Weather Advisory effective until 10:00 AM EST today, warning of lake effect snow and hazardous road conditions.
The advisory covers Niagara, Orleans, Monroe, Wayne, and Northern Cayuga counties, where an additional snowfall of up to two inches is expected in areas experiencing persistent lake effect snow.
Motorists should plan for slippery, snow-covered roads during the morning commute, with reduced visibility and difficult travel conditions possible. The NWS urges drivers to slow down and exercise caution.
Pedestrians should also be cautious as stairs, sidewalks, and driveways may become icy and slippery, increasing the risk of falls and injuries.
