(WNY News Now) – Jamestown, NY – A 44-year-old Jamestown woman was arrested early Sunday morning on multiple charges after a traffic stop revealed she was driving while intoxicated. Cameo L. Stockwell was also charged with resisting arrest and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
At approximately 2:10 a.m. on February 23, officers from the Third Platoon responded to two prior calls for service involving Stockwell. The calls reported that Stockwell was acting in a disorderly manner, allegedly kicking a door at a residence on Willard Street. Officers on the scene advised her not to drive due to her apparent intoxication.
However, shortly after the officers’ intervention, Stockwell was seen operating a motor vehicle on Willard Street. Officers initiated a traffic stop. Upon being informed she was under arrest for driving while intoxicated, Stockwell fled on foot but was apprehended after a brief attempt to escape. She continued to resist arrest during the encounter, leading to additional charges.
