(WNY News Now) – A Lakewood man was arrested Thursday evening after providing officers with a false name during a traffic stop on Winsor Street in Jamestown.

Jamestown, N.Y. – At approximately 8:13 p.m. on February 22, 2025, officers from the Jamestown Police Department were conducting a traffic enforcement operation in the area of Winsor Street near Chandler Street. During the stop, officers observed the front passenger of the vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt, a violation of state law.

When officers approached the passenger, the individual identified themselves with a false name. Despite being informed of the consequences of providing false information, the passenger continued to give officers the incorrect identity.

After further investigation, it was determined the passenger was Tyler T. Manelick, a 28-year-old from Lakewood, NY. Manelick was taken into custody without incident. In addition to the charge of False Personation, Manelick was issued a citation for failing to wear his seatbelt.

Manelick was transported to the Jamestown City Jail. Due to previous failures to appear in court, he was held pending arraignment at the Jamestown City Court.
