(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man faces multiple charges after a street check incident turned combative near the CVS on South Main Street early Saturday morning.

JAMESTOWN, NY – A 44-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of February 24, 2025, following a confrontation with police officers near the CVS at 19 South Main Street. Wade S. Pfleuger, of Jamestown, is facing charges of Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, and Littering.

The incident began at approximately 12:55 a.m. when officers from the third platoon observed Pfleuger littering near the CVS. Upon approaching him to address the violation, officers attempted to identify Pfleuger. However, the subject refused to cooperate and made threatening statements, including mentioning the possibility of pulling a knife.

As officers continued their efforts to de-escalate the situation, Pfleuger became increasingly combative. Authorities report that he attempted to punch one of the officers before physically resisting arrest. A brief struggle ensued before Pfleuger was successfully taken into custody.

Pfleuger was transported to the Jamestown City Jail and is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
