(WNY News Now) – BUFFALO, N.Y. — The National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo has issued a Wind Advisory for parts of western and central New York, effective from 11 a.m. Thursday, March 6, until 4 a.m. Friday, March 7.
The advisory affects Wayne, Northern Cayuga, Oswego, Wyoming, Livingston, Ontario, Cattaraugus, and Allegany counties, where west winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph are expected.
Potential Impacts
Strong wind gusts may blow around unsecured objects, cause tree limb damage, and lead to isolated power outages. Motorists, particularly those driving high-profile vehicles, should exercise caution.
