(WNY News Now) – JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – A routine well-being check led to the arrest of a local woman on outstanding bench warrants and a drug possession charge early Sunday morning.

At approximately 4:08 a.m. on March 9, 2025, officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s Third Platoon responded to a request to check the well-being of an individual in the Brooklyn Square area. Upon arrival, officers identified the subject as Selena N. Hare, 32, of Jamestown.

A records check revealed that Hare had outstanding bench warrants for failure to appear in court. She was taken into custody, and during the arrest, officers discovered she was in possession of a small quantity of methamphetamine.

Hare was transported to the Jamestown City Jail, where she is being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. She faces charges of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 7th Degree, in addition to the outstanding warrants. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
