On March 7, 2025, deputies responded to a report of multiple individuals fighting on Pine Street in the Village of South Dayton at approximately 9:52 p.m. Authorities say 49-year-old Dale Sandy was actively operating a snowmobile recklessly on a public roadway.

Upon investigation, deputies determined that Sandy exhibited multiple signs of intoxication. He was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the First Degree, Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), Refusal to Take a Breath Test, and Trespassing. Officials allege Sandy also refused to leave a local establishment after being instructed to do so multiple times.

Sandy was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Village of South Dayton Court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
