(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man is potentially facing life in prison following a drug bust on Thursday by the JPD, Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, and Dunkirk Police Department.
Jamestown, N.Y. – On March 13, 2025, at approximately 6:30 p.m., a collaborative effort between the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Jamestown Police Department, and Dunkirk Police Department led to the execution of a search warrant at 11 Van Buren Street, Apartment 3, in the City of Jamestown. The operation, which involved the Jamestown Police SWAT team making entry into the residence, resulted in the arrest of 60-year-old Kevin Raymond of Jamestown.

As a result of the search, authorities discovered and seized substantial amounts of illegal substances and other items associated with drug distribution. These included 350.6 grams of methamphetamine, 16.4 grams of fentanyl, drug paraphernalia such as scales and packaging materials, as well as a stolen .22 caliber handgun. Additionally, investigators recovered $93.00 in cash from the premises.

Kevin Raymond faces several charges, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree, two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree, Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, and Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 4th degree.
Raymond is currently being held in custody and will face arraignment in the City of Jamestown Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 2nd degree is a Class A-II felony, making it one of the most serious crimes in the New York State penal code. If convicted, it requires a minimum sentence of 3-8 years in prison, with a maximum sentence of life in prison.
