(WNY News Now) – Buffalo, NY – A Buffalo man has pleaded guilty to multiple felony charges in connection to a fatal shooting that left two people dead and another wounded in the city’s Riverside neighborhood.

Clarence E. Thomas, 22, pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to nine charges, including one count of Murder in the First Degree and two counts of Murder in the Second Degree, among other violent felonies. His plea came ahead of a scheduled jury trial.
The shooting occurred on July 30, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on the 100 block of Isabelle Street. Thomas fired multiple rounds into an occupied vehicle, injuring three of the five occupants. One victim, 20-year-old Treyvon Flood, died at the hospital, while another, 20-year-old DeMarkus Manners, succumbed to his injuries four days later. A third victim, a 19-year-old male, survived after suffering gunshot wounds to his upper back.
Thomas is scheduled for sentencing on April 28, 2025, at 9:30 a.m. He faces a potential sentence of 32 years to life in prison and remains held without bail.
Erie County District Attorney Michael J. Keane commended Buffalo Police Officers Chelsea Rogowski and Steven Zappia for their work in the investigation. Assistant District Attorneys John P. Gerken, Jr. and Anthony F. Perna prosecuted the case.
