(WNY News Now) – DUNKIRK, N.Y. – A Dunkirk man has been sentenced to seven years in state prison after pleading guilty to a felony weapons charge.
Jesus Aponte-Rosario, 35, pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree on January 15, 2025. On Monday, he received a seven-year determinate sentence in state prison, followed by five years of post-release supervision as a violent predicate felon.
Chautauqua County District Attorney Jason Schmidt acknowledged the Dunkirk Police Department and the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force for their role in securing the conviction.
