(WNY News Now) – WESTFIELD, N.Y. — A fire that broke out at a residence on Watson Avenue in the Village of Westfield has been ruled accidental, authorities confirmed.
On March 27, 2025, at approximately 11:57 a.m., Westfield Police and the Westfield Fire Department, along with multiple mutual aid fire departments, responded to a structure fire at 22 Watson Ave. Firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze, and no injuries were reported.
Following the incident, the Chautauqua County Fire Investigation Team conducted an origin and cause investigation. Officials determined that the fire was accidental, caused by an unattended gas stovetop burner that ignited nearby combustible materials in the kitchen.
No injuries were reported.
