(WNY News Now) – A 25-year-old woman was arrested early Wednesday morning in connection with a stolen vehicle investigation in the Town of Salamanca.

SALAMANCA, N.Y. – According to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, on April 2, deputies responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Center Road at approximately 3:20 a.m. An investigation determined that Josie Williams, 25, had unlawfully taken the vehicle from a residence and was later found in possession of it. Authorities also discovered that Williams was operating the vehicle with a suspended license in New York State.

Williams was taken into custody and charged with Grand Larceny – Automobile and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the Third Degree. She was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Salamanca Town Court at a later date.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
