(WNY News Now) – A motor vehicle accident in the Town of Hanover on April 8th resulted in personal injuries and charges of endangering the welfare of a child for a local woman.

Hanover, N.Y. – On April 8th, 2025, at approximately 5:52 p.m., deputies from the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported motor vehicle accident with personal injury on NYS Route 5 and 20 in the Town of Hanover.

The investigation revealed that 40-year-old Kimberly R. Bennett, a resident of Farnham, allowed her unlicensed 16-year-old daughter to operate the vehicle. The juvenile driver failed to yield the right of way while making a left turn, leading to the collision.

EMS personnel transported all individuals involved in the accident to Brooks Memorial Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

As a result of the incident, Bennett was issued citations for several charges, including allowing an unlicensed operator to drive, failure to yield the right of way, and endangering the welfare of a child. She is scheduled to appear in the Town of Hanover Court at a later date to answer the charges.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
