(WNY News Now) – A welfare check led to the arrest of a 36-year-old man in Little Valley after deputies found suspected heroin and drug paraphernalia in his vehicle.

LITTLE VALLEY, NY — The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office arrested Cory A. Foster, 36, following a welfare check conducted at 11:05 a.m. on April 8, 2025, at a Fair Oak Street address in Little Valley.

Deputies were dispatched to the location after receiving a report of individuals sleeping in a vehicle parked in a driveway. Upon arrival, officers found Foster in the driver’s seat. Drug paraphernalia was visible on his lap, prompting a further investigation.

A subsequent search of the vehicle led to the discovery of suspected heroin and a significant quantity of drug-related paraphernalia. Foster was taken into custody and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance.

He was later released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
