(WNY News Now) – In a move aimed at strengthening community safety and easing staffing challenges, the Jamestown Police Department has welcomed three new officers into its ranks.
Jamestown, NY – The Kendall Police Club, the Police Benevolent Association representing the City of Jamestown police officers has announced that Jonathan Gomez-Martinez, Chase Stevenson, and Emma Hollenbeck recently joined the Jamestown Police Department.

Stevenson grew up in Lakewood, NY and graduated from Southwestern High School and the University of Buffalo. Prior to becoming a police officer, he worked as a stonemasonry laborer and at the Chautauqua Institution Yacht Club.

Gomez-Martinez was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Jamestown; he graduated from Jamestown High School and Jamestown Community College where he studied criminal justice.

Hollenbeck grew up in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated high school from Danbury Local Schools in 2019. Prior to attending Jamestown Community College Sheriff’s Academy, she worked at Lakeside Veterinary Medicine as a veterinary assistant/receptionist.
“The addition of Jonathan, Chase and Emma will help alleviate the increased volume of safety calls that sometimes go unanswered due to staffing shortfalls,” said Sam Piazza, President, Jamestown Kendall Club. “I am confident that these three individuals will contribute to our mission of creating a safer environment for the city of Jamestown community.”
To apply for a position as a Police Officer, candidates must be certified by the New York State Bureau for Municipal Police and have at least 60 college credit hours. Individuals must pass the civil service police officer exam, agility tests, physical and psychological examinations, and oral boards.
