(WNY News Now) – A Versailles man is facing multiple charges after being stopped for vehicle and traffic violations in Salamanca during the early morning hours of April 18.
SALAMANCA, NY – On April 18, 2025, at approximately 2:55 a.m., Maxin E. Lindgren, 25, of Versailles, was taken into custody following a traffic stop on W. State Street in the City of Salamanca.
According to authorities, Lindgren was observed committing multiple vehicle and traffic violations, prompting law enforcement to initiate a stop. During the stop, deputies determined Lindgren was driving while intoxicated.
Lindgren was transported to the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office for processing, where a chemical test was administered. He was subsequently charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 1st Degree, Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Blood Alcohol Content of 0.08% or Higher, and Driving While Intoxicated.
In addition to the DWI-related charges, Lindgren was also cited for No or Inadequate Plate Lamp and a Registration Display Violation.
He was released with an appearance ticket and multiple uniform traffic tickets. Lindgren is scheduled to appear in Salamanca City Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
