(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown man was arrested Monday morning after allegedly violating an order of protection and resisting arrest during a 911 investigation on the city’s southside.
Jamestown, N.Y. – On April 21, 2025, at approximately 8:06 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s First Platoon responded to a 911 call at a residence located in the city’s southside.
Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation and discovered 24-year-old Ryan J. Freeman, a resident of Jamestown, hiding in a bathroom shower. Further investigation revealed that Freeman was subject to an active order of protection, which barred him from being at that location or in contact with the protected party.
When officers informed Freeman that he was under arrest for violating the court order, he allegedly resisted, leading to a brief struggle. Officers were able to safely detain him and transport him to the Jamestown City Jail.
Freeman is charged with Criminal Contempt in the First Degree, a felony, and Resisting Arrest, a misdemeanor. He is currently being held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
