(WNY News Now) – A Jamestown woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop on the city’s westside early Saturday morning.

Jamestown, N.Y. – On April 19, 2025, at approximately 2:16 a.m., officers from the Jamestown Police Department’s 3rd Platoon initiated a traffic stop on the westside of the city after observing a vehicle commit a traffic violation.

The driver, identified as 27-year-old Heidi L. Lauer, was found to be operating the vehicle in an intoxicated condition. Following an investigation at the scene, Lauer was taken into custody and transported to the Jamestown City Jail for processing.

She has been charged with Driving While Intoxicated (DWI), DWI Per Se, and Moving from Lane Unsafely. Lauer was issued uniform traffic tickets and released on an appearance ticket.

She is scheduled to appear in Jamestown City Court at a later date to answer the charges. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
