(WNY News Now) – A 26-year-old man from Getzville, NY, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a speeding violation in Ellicottville early Sunday morning.

Ellicottville, N.Y. – At approximately 1:55 AM on April 20, 2025, Bailey S. Vitko, 26, of Getzville, NY, was taken into custody by the Ellicottville Police Department after being stopped for speeding in the Town of Ellicottville.

During the traffic stop, officers observed signs of impairment, prompting them to administer field sobriety tests. After failing the tests, Vitko was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI). He was transported to the local station for processing, where a chemical test confirmed his blood alcohol content (BAC) was at or above the legal limit of .08%.

Vitko was issued appearance tickets for multiple charges, including speeding, DWI, and operating a motor vehicle with a BAC of .08% or more. He was released pending a future court appearance. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
