(WNY News Now) – Town of Ellicott Police arrested a 36-year-old Ashville resident for allegedly shoplifting from Wegmans on April 18.
ELLICOTT, NY — The Town of Ellicott Police Department has charged Tiffany R. Van Curen, 36, of Ashville, with Petit Larceny following a reported shoplifting incident at Wegmans.
According to police, officers responded to the Ellicott grocery store on April 18, 2025, at approximately 3:00 p.m., after it was reported that a woman had passed the point of sale without paying for merchandise. Upon investigation, Van Curen was taken into custody at the scene.
She was subsequently charged with one count of Petit Larceny and released on an appearance ticket. Van Curen is scheduled to appear in the Town of Ellicott Court at a later date to answer to the charge. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
