(WNY News Now) – A welfare check on Jamestown’s westside led to multiple charges against a local woman found unresponsive behind the wheel.

JAMESTOWN – In the early morning hours of April 18, 2025, Jamestown Police officers responded to a check-well-being call on the city’s westside and arrested a local woman on multiple charges.

At approximately 12:52 a.m., officers from the third platoon located 35-year-old Heather M. Brown unresponsive in the driver’s seat of a vehicle. Following an on-scene investigation, officers determined that Brown was operating the vehicle while impaired by drugs.

Further investigation revealed that Brown’s driver’s license was suspended, leading to an additional charge of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation in the third degree. Officers also discovered a quantity of narcotics in Brown’s possession. She was subsequently charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the seventh degree.

Brown was transported to the Jamestown Police Department holding facility, where she was held pending arraignment in Jamestown City Court. As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
