(WNY News Now) – A Salamanca resident faces multiple felony charges following an investigation into unreported income and SNAP benefit fraud.
SALAMANCA, NY — On April 21, 2025, at approximately 10:32 a.m., the Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau arrested Natasha D. Beil of Salamanca on felony charges related to a welfare fraud investigation.
The arrest follows a complaint filed in January 2025 by the Cattaraugus County Department of Social Services. Investigators allege that Beil failed to report income, resulting in her fraudulently receiving $1,911 in Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits.
Beil is charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, Welfare Fraud in the Fourth Degree, and Offering a False Instrument for Filing in the First Degree — all Class E felonies. The charges stem from what authorities describe as accessorial conduct in failing to disclose financial information required for benefit eligibility.
The investigation was conducted jointly by the Sheriff’s Office and the Department of Social Services Program Integrity Unit. Beil was taken into custody at the Department of Social Services in Olean without incident. She was processed and released with an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in City of Olean Court at a later date.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
